Wholeness CHECK-UP

By taking this helpful Journey to Wholeness CHECK-UP, you will be able to identify some personal growth areas in your life. Take a look at these statements and check the ones that presently apply to you.

PHYSICAL:

o I wake up after 7-9 hours of sleep still tired

o I have headaches quite often

o My digestion is not working well

o I overeat or eat for comfort or the reward of pleasure

o I have diarrhea or constipation

o I reach for junk food instead of eating a healthy diet

o My muscles are tight in my neck, shoulders or jaw

o I rarely exercise

EMOTIONAL:

o I spend a considerable amount of time focusing on my outward appearance

o One of these substances (food, drug type substances, caffeine, alcohol) or processes (television, computer, people, porn) help me cope or feel better when I am stressed or lonely

o Negative thinking has almost become a habit for me

o Negative self-talk (thinking or speaking negative words about myself) has become a frequent practice for me

o I use cutting sarcasm as humor

o I spend more time on the internet, watching TV or playing video games than relating to God or other people

o I’ve been procrastinating quite a bit lately

o I’m feeling down, discouraged or depressed these days

o My life feels chaotic

o My nerves are on edge and I’m feeling irritable…again

o I take little time to self-reflect or journal

o I don’t have anyone I can be transparent with and accountable to

o I lack a peaceful heart and spirit

o It is difficult for me to talk about my feelings with others

SPIRITUAL:

o I spend more time meeting my own needs (me and my family) than the needs of others (sharing my resources with others and other causes)

o I am involved in some type of service in the community or in my church because I feel like I should, instead of because I desire to

o I haven’t been spending any time in silence (listening, praying) or inspirational reading (classics, the Bible or spiritual readings)

o I avoid or try to rationalize the principles in the Bible

After you take this Journey to Wholeness Check-up, ASK YOURSELF: What facet of my life is being neglected as it pertains to wholeness? What am I willing to do to change this?
